TED: AAAR flying robots

I just read & watch this article on CNN about a presentation made about "Autonomous Agile Aerial Robots" during TED 2012 (Technology, Entertainment and Design) in California.

It's a must see: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/03/04/opinion/ted-kumar-flying-robots/index.html?hpt=us_t3

Personal French Anniversary

March 2nd, 2012 | Keith | All about Keith

Today marks 6 years that I have been working & living in Paris, France. Wow, I have had some very interesting adventures (I’ll share one from just this morning in the next post).

Honestly, after the first year living here, I sincerely doubted that I’d be able to stay 1 more year yet alone a total of 6 years!

Only the Lord knows what’s going to happen next… 2012 may be my last year here… after 6 years, a change would be good…and recommneded.

Only in France

February 8th, 2012 | Keith | World, Traveling, Quotes of the Day, All about Keith

effortdemotivator.jpg

This poster says it all, a colleague of mine showed me this, found at http://www.despair.com/effort.html

I saw a news update on CNN last night which talked about a strike that's started yesterday, here in France at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport…. The strikers are Air France employees who are upset over the following…. A rule placed by the government that prohibits certain critical services from striking WITHOUT giving a 48 hour notice beforehand. This seems reasonable for some critical services which could put the public at risk (but could be up for debate by some). So to summarize, these Air France employeesare actually striking because they do not want to be told "how to strike"!

Are you serious???? That is  absolutely ridiculous!!!! If it wasn't so darn easy to get up and go on "Strike", then these rules would not be necessary. Seriously, the fact that they went on strike for a reason such as this shows that restrictions need to be made.

It seems to me that the workers who are protected by being a "fonctionnaire" take full advantage and find any excuse NOT to work. Easy examples are, the RAPT/SNCF, Air France. These people adore being able to go on strike. La honte.

MotoGP, nothing but respect from me

October 24th, 2011 | Keith | All about Keith

Today I learned that MotoGP lost another one of their future star yesterday in a violent crash where a total of 3 riders were involved and even one of them lost their helmet!

My thoughts and prayers goes out to the family of Marco Simoncelli.

marco_0.jpg

A video of the crash call be shown here (it mostly likely will be removed from youtube shortly due to some sort of claim to copyright infringement) –> http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/motorcycling/8844269/Marco-Simoncelli-dies-in-MotoGP-crash-in-Malaysia.html

His was racing with a purpose, agressively, and competitively with Alvaro Bautista when from what is looks like he lost his footing of the left foot peg causing his bike to cut across the track into the path of ridering Colin Edwards & Valentino Rossi.

They stopped the race after the crash and Marco later died of his injuries.

He will be missed greatly.

A toast to all the “Pippens’”

January 31st, 2011 | Keith | Quotes of the Day, All about Keith

Everybody thinks that thery're Jordan so I'm sending a shout out to all the "Pippens'" in the world.

This is actually my first post of the year. I'm not certain that there's anybody out there left who even reads my blog. I have to say that whether or not it's being read by millions or by just one person, I feel encouraged by this new Year ahead.

This year, I'm turning 34 and there are alot of things that I have yet to accomplish although I had envisioned that I would have journeyed further in my goals and aspirations. I will give it my all this year, as I have already begun my "transformation" if you will.

Last year, even the year before (but especially 2010) was quite difficult for me. I had met a woman in which I thought she'd be the person in which could be my life partner and who would inspire me to excel to new heights. But instead, I suffered at the hands of an incredibly selfish, disrespectful and negative person. The battles occoured changed me, as I tried to understand why she was acting the way she was towards me. I would try to deplomatically talk with her in order to work things out, I would get angry and I even begged! All to no evail as in the end, after she expressed how much she cared for me, spend her life with me and that she wanted to "go away" somewhere together, she canceled at the last minute our trip to go to Jamaica to spend Christmas with my Parents & my sister.

I did end up going alone, and it turned out to be a great trip with my dear friend, Big Truck a.k.a Buju came down and we celebrated New Year's with my beautiful cousin with fireworks alone a pier in Mo-bay!

The thing was, despite my disappointment, anger and sadness about this whole situation, my heart was missing Ms Lee. I never felt so low, I never felt so alone and I never stooped so low by begging her to show me some respect… Oh man, what was I thinking… I guess it's clear that I was not. My heart never before cared for anyone that much. I have been blessed to have had very meaningful relationships in my past with very special people. With her, it felt like it was mean to be.

Love isn't just a word for me. When I love someone, it's for life, I will always have a part of my heart that will care for that person. I felt that the love we shared was worth fighting to keep, to grow and that it deserved a fair chance. We never really had that chance as we had a long distance relationship, a cultural difference and we were very much the opposite on many levels.

I know now that I had a big role for all the hurt I endured because I am the person who chose to stay with Jenn despite seeing the signs loud and clear that she didn't deserve my love. That when I knew it was time to walk away, I chose to give the relationship another go.

I wanted to give us a chance. There was something very special between us in the quiet moments, and when we laughed. We could be doing anything and and were happy together, no other love could compare.

Writing this blog post is and has helped me cope and more importantly come to terms with the relationship and move on. It's hard loving someone with a passion only not to receive the same back in return.

As I write earlier, a toast going out to the Pippen's on this world, because when you are untied with your Jordan, both of you will shine and take the game to the next level.*

Keith

Heading back to my home town

February 16th, 2010 | Keith | Traveling, All about Keith

Guess what,

I'm going to Montreal on Thursday after not visiting the place where I was born and where I grew up since February 2008. Yes that's 2 years…. it's way too long and it won't happen again, I promise. Alot of things have occured in the last 2 years, both good and bad but I can say with pride that I've learned and grown from these experiences.

As for my trip, I will not be staying long, I got to take care of some administratived things but I hope that I'll be able to see all my family and friends this weekend.

I cannot enough just how much I'm looking forward to going back to Montreal, even if it's the middle of winter ;-)

See you all soon.

This trip has made me feel like I miss home, Montreal is where the heart is!

Positive thinking…

August 1st, 2009 | Keith | All about Keith

I have decided to post this because of Jennifer. She had sent this to me and she thought that it had some very valid and positive points about how we view life. So here it is below, please share your thoughts and feelings with me:

This is something we should all read at least once a week!

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland ,
 Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.
It is the most-requested column I've ever written."

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once
 more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and
 parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

10. When it comes to chocolate, = resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their
 journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God
 never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is
up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no
 for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will
 this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did
 or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd
 grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

 Cheers :)

Long time since last blog post - I present some iPhone news

June 17th, 2009 | Keith | Tech Info, All about Keith

I am first sorry that it's been so long since I've written. I've been going through alot of changes in life. With life's ups and downs but in the end, I see the light :)

I will talk more about this more in my next blog post.

Now, onto the the great iPhone news. We as most of you may know, apple is releasing a new iPhone 3g and with it a new firmware with alot of fantastic new features. See Apple intro to the new phone HERE. I have been one of the very first people to buy the iphone 3G back in early August of 2008 when apple released the new iPhone in July of the same year. I bought it from Rogers and then brought the phone back to France. The only problem with that is contrary to what I was told in the rogers store where I bought the phone, Rogers does NOT authorize having the phone unlocked, even if their customer moves out of the country (this is just but one of the reason why roger is a horrible company).

So I have had very little success in getting my iPhone unlocked so that i can make calls. it has been fantasic for games and playing music but without the phone functionality, it's just an fantasy ipod.

There is now a solution for me and many others who are in the same boat, there's a software unlock which not only can alot me to install endless amazing applications to my iPhone but unlock my iPhone so that I can use it with my french carrier, SFR.

Have a look at this video for more details. I will let you all know this weekend if my attempt to unlock my iPhone is successful!!!!

Cuis :)

I am so happy, it’s been almost 1 year since i got my iPhone in canada but since I live in france, I have NOT been able to use the phone with SFR bcuz it’s locked.

I have tried piggyback sim cards, and they never last more than a few days.

Here is the link of the site in which has given me full access to my iphone, not only with unlocking it but with the jailbreak.

Memories from way back…

January 3rd, 2009 | Keith | All about Keith

Keith as a 15 yr old in Europe

This is a photo my Mom kept of me when I was 15 yrs old and traveled for the first time by myself to Europe. I toured Europe on the Quebec National Handball team, We ended up 3rd in the world and in the pic are some of my old teammates.

That summer I spent in Europe as a teenager really changed my life and is an experience that I'll never forget. Wow, I am so happy that Mom still keep that photo. She says that she has more and we'll see if she can find them and I'll post more :-)

Hey and check out my pants, hehe, I was styling it back then!!!! ;-)

Thank Mom & Dad for everything!

This day shall remain forever known as a historical day, a moment where you'll think back and remember where you were on this day… the day Barack Obama becomes president of USA. fHe is the 44th US president and the First black (African-american) president in history and he offers change… not only to America but to the enitre world!

3 feet: Turns out the iPhone isn’t indestructable

August 21st, 2008 | Keith | All about Keith

My brand new iPhone slipped! — from about three feet, and it hit the sidewalk. Apple’s design gurus had miscalculated — one fall and the screen shattered across the top corner. The only way to replace a cracked iPhone screen is to buy a whole new phone.
You might think a component like a broken screen could be replaced — nope. And AppleCare, the company’s extended warranty plan, doesn’t cover accidental damage. Alex in customer service said it was sad, but that nothing could be done. It was like the time he bought a brand-new car only to have someone immediately ding it in a parking lot. Um, no — not the same thing, really, unless he had to replace the whole car.

How many other iPhone customers have shattered the screens of the month-old 3G? Hard to say. Apple’s press office wouldn’t: “I don’t have that information for you,” was the representative’s response.

With 23 months left on the AT&T contract and a cracked iPhone, what’s a Mac lover to do? Pony up another $299 for a new iPhone 3G, of course, and hope that the American Express buyer-protection plan comes through. Also, buy a bouncy protective case.

iPhone 3G Unlocked! (with SIM Card Adapter)

August 21st, 2008 | Keith | All about Keith

Just four days after its launch, the iPhone 3G has been unlocked for the first time exactly like the original iPhone: using a special card that piggybacks to your SIM card, fooling the phone into thinking it’s using an official carrier. While this is not the software unlock being developed by the usual suspects, the video clearly shows it works. And this is great for me because i just picked up the Iphone 3G during my recent trip to Toronto!

I’ll let you know if it works on mine ;-)

I spent the day in Zurich, Switherland where I met some very interesting people. I did some shopping and I even rode in the cockpit on the flight back to Paris.

Just checking in

May 26th, 2008 | Keith | All about Keith

Wassup everyone, it's been a long time since I've said a word on my blog. There are lots of reasons for this, some good and some bad, but there are others like the fact I've been feeling lazy Tongue out, I've been busy just living and working.

Ok, so here's a quick recap since the last time I wrote: I changed companies (now with Onepoint, thx Mat & DavidWink) and I could not be happier with this change. I have also moved into a bigger appartment, which is still in the 16th and closer to work. The only downside with my new place is that I no longer have a living room window view of the eiffel tower (well, I just have to walk down the street to see it).

I have also found myself in a new network of friends which is very comforting and has opened my eyes to new experiences. I also have been traveling alot, having recently visited Spain and England. All in all, life is making me smile :)

I have been taking less photos than I used too but I have uploaded some new photos in my GALLERY, so good ahead and have a look. Here are a few samples:

So there you have it. I will serious be back and write more often, as I do have other interesting things to share, for example the crazy weekend I spent recently in london… and the craziness started before I even arrived in London!!!

Cuis Bye

Enfin retour à Montréal

Bon, I am back in town after a horrible trip with Air Transat. I think it is more the Paris CDG management which is at fault more than the Airline itself as i had an unpleasant experience with Air Canada as well (that time was not nearly half as bad as what i have been through with Air Transat).

I will give more details to exactly what happened on another Blog post as i want to stay positive and talk about how happy i am to be back in my home town mtl!!!

I have a new number and i am going to get alot of shopping done and see my good friends which i have not seen in soo long. I leave on Saturday back to Paris, so i propose that on Friday night, a big get together!!!!

Bye for now.

Je craque

pour toi, pour moi.

pour la famille,

2 quotes of the day pour vous (Not including the bonus quote in the title):

"When you piss in your pants, you can only stay warm for so long…"

and "I rather be judged by 12 than be carried by 6…"

I heard these quotes from unlikely sources, Robert Duvall and Mark Wallberg respectively.

“The Bangkok 4″

September 23rd, 2007 | Keith | Traveling, All about Keith

"The Bangkok 4" is derived from four strangers who met in Bangkok, at a hostel and spent a wonderful time together!!! The group is comprised of James (Austrailia), Kyle (American living in Hongkong), Andrew (Canadian traveling across Asia) and myself.

I have to say that these guys are great and has made my experience here much more interesting. Bangkok is a very that is full of lots of unknowns (in terms of not being conned) and I think it's easy when you are a group.

We made friends with the locals and even went on a "tuk-tuk" ride, lots of fun. We also saw the infamous "ping-pong" show and we traveled to the Grand Palace, saw a live Mauy Thai boxing event and did lots of shopping.

I’m In Thailand!!!

September 21st, 2007 | Keith | Traveling, All about Keith

After my first day spent here in Bangkok, I have to say it has been a very interesting experience. Very friendly people here, smiling and easy to approach. However, not everybody speaks english so it is challenging getting past the language barrier. The only thing that i noticed which is a very unpleasant part of travelling here isn't the high humidity but the amount of people willing to take advantage of the "clueless" tourist.

Well, in an effort to combat this, I have met 3 cool dudes who are all traveling alone here in Bangkok, so we have teamed up and we're going to visit this exciting city.

Talk to you all later.

PS Don't miss out on my video of my first Bungy Jump shown HERE!!!!! Cool

Kia ora & Ka Kite Ano

September 14th, 2007 | Keith | Keith's Trips, All about Keith

Keith standing on the edge of the "Honeymoon Pool"  Wairakei Terraces

This evening I had the opportunity to visit the Maori people's cultural Concert. The Maori people are New Zealand's version of North America's Native Indians.

"Just a little side-bar tip: In New Zealand Winter has just ended and they are now in early spring, this is the reason why I am wearing my winter jacket because it's still quite Cold… burrr

Wairakei Terraces

This concert revealed the Maori's heritage, beliefs and there lifestyle. They are a people who have a great respect for the land, water and animals. They tell stories of their history through dance, song & carvings. They are also passionate yet simple people seeking to enjoy the life that they have been blessed with (having health, land and food).

Kia ora in Maori is a greeting that involves a hand-shake with and touching noses and foreheads.

Ka Kite Ano in Maori means "Farewell, May the Gods be with you…"

I’ve arrived, in the down-under!!!

September 10th, 2007 | Keith | All about Keith

View from Taupo

After over 35 hours since I left my appartment in Paris, I have finally arrived in Taupo, New Zealand! It is a beautiful place, clean fresh air, friendly people and a wonderful scenic view of Lake Taupo and the surrounding mountains. The trip itself went smoother than I expected, I flew with Quantas Arilines and it is the best Airline I have flown with to date, great service on and off the plane and the planes themselves very clean and comfortable.

Here is a rainbow I saw as I was heading from the airport near Auckland, NZ.

Today (being Tuesday september 11th, 9h00 here  in New Zealand and it's currently Monday Sept 10th, 23h00 in Paris), I woke up to sunny skies and am planning on going Kayaking and for a hike! Yup, life is pretty sweet here and I will have more photos coming soon.

Bisous from Taupo.

Le debut, the beginning…

September 6th, 2007 | Keith Mania | Extraordinary!, All about Keith

Hello everyone,

This blog post will summarize a little about what's new in my life and about some of the improvements done to my site. As most of you who do visit my page regularly you have noticed that my Photo Gallery was inaccessible and that this blog was "malfunctioning". Well, there was a problem with MySQL install and there were corrupted tables, I was forced to recreate my gallery and the blog. It killed me because I have some very cool blog posts and all of my photos were lost… I was very discouraged and even thought about dropping the whole thing. Well, I did not and if you do know me, I'm not a quitter! Wink

I am now very satisfied with the changes and at least in my opinion my blog and gallery function more efficiently… so at least there is something positive within all of this. It has taken some time to do so because I have been extremely occupied with work and with life in general.

This now brings me to where I made a new title for the blog… Where it all begins…. I feel my life is taking a whole new step, a new chapter is beginning and I want to make it the best chapter yet! I also would love to share these experiences with you.  Throughout the years I have learned that without all of my dear friends, people who have in their own unique way influenced me and helped me become a better "Keith". I am truly grateful for you all. So it is a pleasure to share my thoughts, experiences and just fun stuff/events with you.

I am not a writer per say although my appreciation for writing has greatly improved since starting this blog. I will not be writing something every hour on the hour but I will try to write often enough (perhaps even once a day).

So the next blog post will talk about what is up & coming for me…

à bientôt et bisous Bye

Angels & Demons

May 16th, 2007 | Keith | All about Keith

Dan Brown's book ANGELS & DEMONS is the very first book which I have bought and read cover to cover. Since I am not a person who has read alot of book up until now, I am proud to say that I really enjoyed reading it and I could not put it down, another first for me. I will not go into details about the story line but Dan Brown writes a captivating story with suspense, action and thrills which had me hooked. What I truly loved about that book is that it contains true facts about historical events and facts involving the Vatican. I have to say that I will even re-read the book just be able to absorb all of the information provided while telling a rivited story. I enjoyed Dan Brown's first book (Thank you sonia for a wonderful gift), the Da Vinci Code (my Review 1 & Review 2) and I will say that I actually liked this one 10 times more! Yes and thumbs up for the book, so go and read it and see for yourself. Aller, A+ et bisous de Paris!!!!

Am I homophobic????

May 14th, 2007 | Keith | All about Keith

This was the question I asked myself when I walked onto the quai at La Muette, waiting for the next metro to pass in order to go home this evening from work. I saw these 2 guys out of the corner on my eye.. and the only reason I think I noticed was because to me they seemed a little odd. What was odd was the fact that one of them was nibbling on the other guys ear… WTF!?!?!?!? Oh man… after a long day at work… i did not feel like seeing that. Then the train arrived and i thought to myself "please don't come into the same door as me, please…" but as fate would have it…. they did and were standing right beside me. Then as if some kind of radar went off in the guy's head "ok, this guy will freak out if I do this…" He then started nibbling on his boyfriend's ear AND practically giving the guy a hicky for the whole damn train to see!!!!!!! THANK THE LORD I ONLY WAS ON THE TRAIN FOR 2 STATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now.. I know my view on Gay's or homosexuals has been a bit harsh in terms of thinking that it is unatural. However as I grew up into the man I am now, I have a feeling of acceptance and respect for people taking their own paths and going with their feelings. I am very comfortable with my own sexuality that i can even admit and say… "yes, that is a good looking man" If I ever saw one who was better looking than me, hehehe… just kidding Tongue out. However my problem here is that I do NOT need to see what the heck those 2 dudes do in their bedroom!!!!

For heaven's sake… I still cannot believe if you (you being any male) had a choice, you would want to be intimate with another man. I have said on many occasions that "if I was born a woman.. I would definitely be a lesbian.." because I love "women-ness" (not certain if that's a word but if not, I vote that it be added to the dictionary) or just the essesence of a woman! I simply love everything about a woman (ok, almost everything but that will be another topic for later), therefore that would be my only option… haha. For example I enjoy a woman's soft & gentil touch, the senuality and sensitivty their, sexiness and not to mention the heavenly curves a woman posesses.

In my opinion no man can duplicate that and to be hoonest, they better not try!!!  So yeah…. perhaps I am still a little homophobic when I see 2 guys playing with each other right in front of my face with the rest of the world to see. I am sorry… but I am not ready nor do I want to be exposed to seeing that at such a degree.

Hummm, that is actually an interesting comment Miss Doom… however, in Paris, a city known for Love and couples being in love… It is quite common to see couple kissing in public places, like in restaurants, café, and even out on the street.

Yes you are right that if it’s wrong for same sex couples, then it shouldn’t be right for all couples but I will take seeing a man & a woman making out in the middle of the street than seeing 2 guys… sorry but that makes me sick!

ok here’s the thing…when you see too hot chicks together kissing etc…i think there are less people who find this weird than two guys doing it…so if couples were more discreet when they are in public, this would help in both instances…this could explain how now people show they are gay and lesbiennes in public maybe because they see normal couples show off more in public…

A beautiful poem made with passion from the soul:

A Voice like honey…

With rich skin and warm eyes I melt at thoughts of you You…

amazing like no other. Be with me in my dreams Your voice is music..

Deep, rich. Golden. With a sweet melody and exotic tones, You speak to my soul

All about Keith

March 5th, 2007 | Keith Mania | All about Keith

Keith

Bonjour, This is a site dedicated to the amazing
adventures of… MOI ;-) Come back often as it will
have photos and stories of my life. Some of you may
know this already, and if you don't know, you better
ask somebody! I packed all my things, left my Good
job at CN Rail, left my fam and friends to go and take
advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime. I hopped on
a plane and moved to Paris, France!!!

It's a major career move for me since I got a job
working in my field for one of the largest banks in
Europe! This was a huge move and I have been here
since the end of March, and so far so good. I can
honestly tell you that I can definitely get used to the
European lifestyle.  It was scary at first but also very
exciting. I do miss my family & friends very much and
I can honestly say that Montreal is a great city and it
will always be in my heart.

I am proud to say that I am a French (Quebec)
Jamaican Canadian now living in France.  However, I
can see the beginning of a new life for me here in Paris
and maybe one day elsewhere in Europe. I thank you
very much for all your support and  enjoy this site, all
about me and all the wonderful people around me…

Days of Reflections…

November 30th, 1999 | Keith | All about Keith

Hello Everybody, it's been a while since my last blog post from Thailand. There has been alot of things going one since my return to Paris. And to be honest, there aren't that many positive things either Frown.

For example, I came back and got a terrible cold. I then found out that my mission at Ixis is officially over and cannot be extended at the moment. My hopes in starting a new relationship came crumbling down and to top things off, I have had unexpected financial problems since my CC was lost in Bangkok.

Yup, if ever there was a time for reflection, it's now!

Useful information on Event Viewer

November 30th, 1999 | Keith | Tech Info

Detailed Usage of the Event Viewer /AUXSOURCE Switch Option

Article ID 312216
Last Review March 2, 2007
Revision 6.1

This article was previously published under Q312216

SUMMARY

This article describes how to use the /auxsource switch to translate seemingly useless Event Viewer messages, such as the following one
The description for Event ID ( 1202 ) in Source ( ClusSvc ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. One may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: SAMMCPQCLU2, SAMMCPQCLU1, -4662149.

into useful troubleshooting information, such as the following message:

The time delta between node SAMMCPQCLU2 and node SAMMCPQCLU1 is -4662149(in 100 nanosecs).
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://support.microsoft.com.
The two error messages are identical Event Viewer output. The difference is that the /auxsource switch is being used with second message.

This article describes:

IP address
Fully qualified domain name (FQDN)
NetBIOS name

NOTE: The /auxsource switch is not case sensitive and server is either the reference server or the server that generates the event logs.

Requirements for /AUXSOURCE Users

loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); To use /auxsource, you must be able to access the registry as an administrator on the server that is specified in the /auxsource=server syntax. If you are not logged on as an administrator on that server, you can either run Event Viewer by using the runas command or you can establish a connection to the IPC$ share of the /auxsource=computer syntax by using the following command-line syntax:

net use \\servername\ipc$ /u:domainname\username *

NOTE: If the remote computer does not allow remote registry access (possibly because Remote Registry Service is not running), you cannot use the /auxsource=computer syntax even if you are a member of the Administrator group on the remote computer.

The inability to establish the necessary security rights that are needed on the computer in the /auxsource=computer syntax is silent, which means that no errors are displayed; however, this becomes evident when you do not see the advanced log types in the Open log file dialog box. In place of the IPC$ connection, you can create matching user names and passwords in the domain of the server in /auxsource=server.

Caveats

loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');

Self Logging Applications and DNS, FRS, and Active Directory

loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); When you are viewing logs for DNS, FRS, and Active Directory, Event Viewer must be running on a domain controller. You cannot use the /auxsource switch from a workstation or from a member server to view the log details.

The same caveat applies to programs such as Microsoft Exchange, which maintain their own logs and (or) write their logs to the System log or Application log; you have to be logged on to a computer with that type of software installed.

Windows 2000

loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); You cannot use this switch to view log details when you are logged on to a Windows 2000-based computer; however, you can use the switch from a Windows XP-based computer to view the information in a log output from a Windows 2000-based computer. If you place the Windows XP file Els.dll, which enables the switch, on a Windows 2000-based computer, you receive the following error message:

"snap-in failed to initialize". Name: event Viewer ClSID:{975797fc-4e2a-11d0-b702-00c0rfd8dbf7

The /auxsource switch only works with the message type that is referenced in the "Summary" section in this article, and no other event log message is affected one way or another by the switch.

Erin & Kristin, bienvenue à Paris

November 30th, 1999 | Keith | All about Keith

Erin & Kristin arrived early Friday morning to Paris from Toronto. It's their first time visiting Paris and Europe in general. I have to say that they seem to be enjoying Paris quite a bit (especially after getting over the jet-lag).

Great news, I will be going to jamaica during the Christmas holidays to see my parents. It has been almost 2 years since I've seen my mom and Dad.
